The marine towing business is non-stop and always challenging. Crews man boats 7/24 for hitches of up to 28 days before being relieved. Depending on the customer and assignment, boats will be manned by four or five crewmen.

Successful crews work as teams with safety as their first priority. Wind, rain, snow, tide and river flows make difficult work that much more so. Mechanical maintenance, fuel, water and supplies are routine considerations. Although most tug boat systems are redundent, mechanical breakdowns happen and can introduce even more factors in managing the risks of tug boat operations. And then everything is big and heavy.

Personal Protective Equipment is required for all tug evolutions.
